Mountain View PTA

Hello Mountain View families!

We hope that your families will have a great start to our school year. It does not look like a normal school year, but we are all in this together and we will get through.

We want to bring you an exciting opportunity to be a leader for your school and its PTA. PTA is the nation’s largest volunteer advocacy group. We advocate for all children. As of right now, Mountain View PTA has all leadership positions open to be filled. Theresa Shaw and myself, Kristin Marshall, have taken temporary ownership of your school PTA. We are both leaders on the Johnson City Council of PTAs, and we would love to see your families become involved again.

You will not be left to figure everything out by yourselves. As leaders with Mountain View PTA, you have access to the decades of experience on the Johnson City Council of PTAs. We hold trainings, monthly meetings, and are always available to help in any way we can. As the leaders, you also can decide when you meet as a board. There is nothing that says PTA must meet during the school day. You can meet in the evenings, through Zoom or in person. The board usually only meets once a month for an hour.

We need to fill these positions immediately:

President – Oversees the operations of PTA, offers encouragement and guidance to all positions within the unit and members;

Vice-President – helps the President as they need it and, ideally, becomes the President the following year;

Secretary – keeps minutes of the meetings, both board and general;

Treasurer – counts and deposits incoming monies, writes checks, keeps financial records;

Membership – promotes membership;

Fundraising – oversees fundraising activities.

If you are interested in serving as an officer or helping with PTA without a leadership role, please contact Kristin Marshall at I will be glad to answer any questions.

Leadership not an interest for you, but you want to support the PTA and the school? You can join Mountain View PTA on the MVE PTA store:

Thank you for your time and we hope you have a great school year!
